Abstract
With the boom in information technology, incidences of plagiarism are on the rise. The Association of College and Research Libraries includes the ability to use information ethically and legally in its information literacy standards. In this paper, the authors describe a theory-based workshop, conducted in the library, that teaches students about the different types of plagiarism and how to avoid it by using style manuals. The authors argue that this instructional approach is an effective way to decrease plagiarism.
