Abstract
Poverty is the number one predictor of poor health worldwide and it is vital that health science students understand the dire effects on a multitude of health outcomes. The Community Action Poverty Simulation (CAPS) is an evidence-based simulation that has been widely used to change participant perceptions towards poverty. Research has consistently shown an improvement in perceptions, skills, and knowledge for undergraduate students who undergo the poverty simulation. Little is known about graduate students' experiences with CAPS.
To determine if the CAPS changes undergraduate and graduate students' perceptions towards poverty.
