Abstract

Fisher students will engage in the systemic process of exploring issues, concepts, and artifacts through the collection and analysis of evidence, resulting in informed discussions, conclusions, and actions, and they will incorporate these methodologies into their approaches to problem solving.

Executive Summary:

• Patients in NY rely on care provided by Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs).

• New York remains the only state in th U.S. without formal statutory recognition of CRNAs.

• Bill S2302/A10606 would define nurse anesthesia and establish certification procedures.

• Codification would clarify liability, supervision, and authority of CRNAs to administer anesthesia.

• NYS legislature must enact S2302/A10606 to support patients access to care.
