Abstract
For my keystone this semester, I had the opportunity to learn and take part in an auditing internship with The Bonadio Group. To take it a step forward, I participated in the Dick's Sporting Goods Business Analytics Challenge. Throughout my auditing internship, I developed a wide range of skills such as evidence-based reasoning and professional skepticism. These skills strengthened my approach during the analytics challenge. I applied them when creating different data models, evaluating performance analytics, and forming strategic recommendations. Together, these experiences showed me how audit skills extend beyond the accounting bubble in order to make strong decisions. This project also highlighted to me the importance of critical analysis, communication, and initiative, which I plan to carry forward to my next internship.
