Abstract
A common complaint among athletes, hip and groin pain, can manifest as a result of acute soft tissue failure during high speed movements and maneuvers requiring a sudden change of direction, or develop overtime from insufficient recovery due to repetitive physical strain. Hip labrum tears are prevalent in most sports, making this research topic useful to determine a biomechanical cause of this injury.
Purpose: Therefore, the purpose of this future study is to examine potential causes of hip labrum tears related to gluteus medius activation in Field Hockey athletes using electromyogaphy as a non-invasvie risk assessment.
