Abstract

Spirituality significantly influences health and well-being, particularly for patients with chronic conditions such as chronic kidney disease, who frequently experience spiritual distress. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing Essentials and the American Holistic Nurses Association emphasize the integration of spiritual care into nursing education. Addressing spiritual needs through holistic, patient-centered care has the potential to improve quality of life, coping, and resilience. This project aimed to design, implement, and evaluate an evidence-based spiritual care education intervention for dialysis nurses through a pilot study. It also aimed to enhance nurses' understanding of spirituality, spiritual assessment, and related interventions.
