Abstract

Abstract: This research paper explores the concept of paternalism in the context of legislation, with a focus on drug policy under the War on Drugs. Further, this research contains the analysis of various philosophical theories on paternalism, examining the discontent between legal justification of paternalism based on empirical evidence, and philosophical critique of paternalism based on moral concerns regarding individual liberties.
