Abstract
Nurse leaders play a crucial role in fostering workforce diversity. The current demographics of the nursing workforce do not accurately reflect the diverse U.S. population. Diverse nurses face discrimination, lower wages, and barriers to advancement. Supporting diversity enhances psychological safety, cultural competence, and retention. A diverse workforce improves patient care and builds trust within communities. Nurse leaders are uniquely positioned to create inclusive environments that promote equity and representation.
