Abstract
I choose to study Nella Larson's 1929 novel titled Passing, and study its reception history. Along with this I wanted to decipher what was happening in history and how that could have connected to the novel being introduced to another group of people. Throughout the project I asked myself “why does this specific novel still hold so much significance” and “how can this novel be tied to so many backgrounds and identities”.
My poster and timeline gives an outline of different moments in time that had an impact large enough to relate it to events in the past and mentioned in the novel. The timeline runs from 1929 when the novel was originally published to the present.
