Abstract
This poster presents research on how capital markets respond to workplace gender equality policies, focusing on the passage of #MeToo-related legislation.
Using an event study framework, we examine stock market reactions to key legislative events and explore how these effects vary across firms. The findings provide evidence on how investors price legal and reputational risks associated with workplace misconduct and gender equality issues.
The results contribute to the broader literature on corporate social responsibility, labor-related risk, and the economic consequences of social movements.
