Abstract
The cost of maintaining an appropriate medication inventory has drastically increased for healthcare centers, especially for small non-profit facilities. The acquisition of medication at a reasonable cost is essential to sustain access and best serve vulnerable patient populations. St. Joseph’s Neighborhood Center (SJNC) has relied primarily on medication donations from non-profit aid organizations, community partners, and the limited purchase of medications through discounted distributors. These methods are often inconsistent and result in frequent changes to patient medication regimens. This project compared the cost of two viable, long-term medication sourcing options for SJNC: Dispensary of Hope and AndaMeds.
