Abstract
This study examined the benefits of using an iPod Touch with literacy learners. Research was conducted in the households of four early elementary students as they used an iPod Touch for recreational and literacy activities. Data was collected through interviews, preand post-testing, and video analysis of student interaction with the iPod Touch. The findings showed the students were capable of independently using the iPod Touch and were engaged when using it. In order to access the educational potential of the iPod Touch, educators must understand that the it is a tool which requires carefully and conscientiously software selection based on solid learning theory.
