Abstract
The intention of this paper is to provide an analysis of the peace process in Israel and the Occupied Territories. The argument states that the lack of attention paid to human rights in the current Road Map to Peace is one of the major reasons this attempt at peace will not be successful. In other nations where international pressures were applied, there were major improvements in the country's human rights policies and enforcement. With Israel's blatant violations of provisions of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and over 7 4 United Nations Security Council Resolutions, and with the Road Map taking no action regarding human rights the violations will continue and the peace process will remain at a standstill.
