Abstract

This presentation explores the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in the management of smart cities, specifically focusing on sustainable development and environmental efficiency. The discussion will critically examine both the promising advantages—such as reduced energy consumption, optimized resource allocation, and decreased emissions—and the ethical concerns, including issues around privacy, data security, algorithmic bias, and the potential loss of human agency. By carefully evaluating multiple perspectives, the presentation will provide a balanced analysis and propose guidelines for ethically integrating AI into urban sustainability efforts.
