Abstract
The language we use in genetics when we refer to certain types of diseases, illnesses, traits, qualities of people, etc can be improved. This is because the way things are said in genetics aren't correct all the time or need to be fixed / improved because it can make certain groups of people feel excluded, targeted or insulted. For example, when we refer to something or someone as being abnormal, it may come across derogatory, in which case we can use words such as affected, less common, or rare.
