Abstract
While most current research advocates for the inclusion of students with special needs, this researcher finds that segregated schools do have a place in the education of students with disabilities. A questionnaire survey sent out to administration, teachers, mental health staff, former students and parents of a segregated program reveals how important it is to have choices and alternative settings for students whose needs are not being met in a general education classroom.
