Abstract

Many newly approved immediate-release (IR) solid oral drugs are accompanied by broad "do-not-crush" warnings, often without specific explanations. Building on our recent publication of crushability analysis of novel drugs approved between 2020 and 2022, this research extends the assessment to the approvals of 2023. Our goal is to provide healthcare providers with timely recommendations for the safe manipulation of immediate-release tablets and capsules for patients who cannot swallow them whole.
