Abstract
In lieu of an abstract, below is the essay's first paragraph:
Everyone wants to be famous. Everyone wants to be popular and recognized, but not everyone can. Some people are really friendly and some are really shy. Popularity is literally your friend list. Some lists are larger than others, however they mean nothing. It’s one thing to have a lot of friends, but if they don’t know or care about you then they are not your friends. For example, you could have over 2,000 friends on Facebook, but if you only know 50 of them then you don’t have 2,000 friends. I believe this is the message that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is trying to convey. A friend is someone who is helping you move forward, not holding you back.
