In this issue, David Gregory looks at how modern Young Adult Literature can help address and alleviate the dangerous social stigma associated with mental illness. Taylor LaValley explores primary and secondary sources to illuminate the post-Civil War struggles to reconcile our divided nation. Tamaron McKnight addresses the contemporary popularization of Black culture in White America and challenges the reader to be aware of the difference between cultural appreciation and appropriation. Brandon Schlemmer argues for the urgent need for non-binary and gender expansive role models on television today. And, Alex Voglewede asserts that human rights violations are perpetuated against Dalits in India because of their socially ingrained relegation to the lowest levels of the caste system.
